Aesthetics built on function
Dr. Tarek Khawli works at MySmile Polyclinic in Jumeirah, where his practice runs almost entirely on a digital workflow: optical scanning instead of impression trays, ceramic milled in the clinic, aligner movements planned on screen before a single tray is worn.
He also teaches. As an official Invisalign and iTero speaker he trains other dentists in aligner biomechanics, 3D planning and intraoral scanning, and in 2025 that clinical work was recognised with the Leader in Digital Dentistry award.

Teeth rarely break for no reason. The examination reads chewing forces, jaw joint stability, airway factors and wear patterns, so the cause is treated and not only the damage.
Occlusion and bite correction
Assessment and management of clenching, grinding, worn edges and joint strain, using computerised force analysis and functional adjustment.
Orthodontic relapse
If teeth have drifted back after previous braces or aligners, the case is re assessed and realignment options are discussed openly, including whether treatment is worth repeating.

Your aligner plan starts with a complete digital diagnosis.
An intraoral iTero scan, a 3D X-ray and a facial photograph are needed before your plan is finalised. Together they set the number of aligners, based on facial aesthetics, tooth position, bite correction and your individual case.
THE PATIENT PROTOCOL
01. The assessment
Forty five minutes. A 3D iTero scan, a bite force check, an airway assessment and a full photographic series.
You leave with a clear diagnosis and your own baseline records.
02. The simulation
DSD planning and 3D aligner staging, produced before any clinical work starts.
You see the expected result and approve it, or ask for changes.
03. The treatment
Aligner sequences through the Invisalign Platinum Elite workflow, or a CEREC ceramic restoration placed in a single appointment.
Predictable execution, and far less time in the chair.
04. Keeping it
Occlusal balancing, retention made for you, and a follow up protocol that is planned rather than reactive.
The result holds, and the joint stays comfortable.
Answers to Common Questions
How does a same day CEREC restoration actually work?
The tooth is scanned optically, the restoration is designed on screen, milled from a ceramic block in the clinic, and bonded the same day. That removes the impression tray, the temporary crown and the wait in between.
How is my Invisalign fee decided?
By how many aligners your case needs. That number comes from the iTero scan, the 3D x ray and the facial photograph, so it is only confirmed after the assessment. The table above shows the current range, and you receive your exact figure in writing before treatment starts.
Why see a dentist who teaches Invisalign and iTero?
Because teaching means staying inside the detail. Dr Tarek trains other practitioners in aligner biomechanics and digital staging, which is the same thinking applied to crowding, bite discrepancies and cases that have relapsed.
Can I see the result before treatment begins?
Yes. Digital Smile Design and optical scanning produce a 3D preview of the expected alignment and smile. You approve it before clinical treatment starts.
Will I need extractions?
Not necessarily. Non extraction planning is preferred wherever the assessment supports it. Your scan, bite analysis and bone limits decide that, not a general rule.
What makes the diagnostic approach different?
Most consultations look at the tooth that hurts. This one also reads chewing forces, joint stability, airway and biological risk, because that is usually where the cause sits.
